ASUS has taken the next step in making the G73JH 209 BIOS official. The G73JH download page now includes BIOS 209 in the BIOS history pop-up. And, I quote:

    [ 209 ]
    ----------------------
    Firmware change

Yes, that's it. With all that is known about 209 BIOS that is absolutely the best ASUS could come up with for a description, so be glad you read these forums. :)

For those of you who haven't taken the unofficial plunge, don't get your hopes up to high just yet. Despite the fact that the history pop-up lists the update, as of this writing the G73JH download page doesn't provide a download link.

I'm not sure why they would update one half of the site, without updating the other. Unless the 5PM quitting bell happened to ring and they went home for the weekend.

Be that as it may, it appears that 209 BIOS will soon be official.

I haven't taken the plunge yet. Until my M17x comes in my G73 is my only system. Can't risk it.

I did and it seems to be really solid, but with your luck on this laptop, I can understand it. ;)

Will updating to the 209 BIOS fix the GSOD problem? Or is it an entirely differently problem all on its own?

Do not think so, GSOD is a driver or vBios conflict

Well they should add that to their agenda as the next important thing to fix. Its really getting out of hand!

I'm probably going to pass on the 209, I don't use the FN+F1 anyways, and the keyboard problem is probably my own doing. By some stroke of a miracle that people do not get GSOD's on 209, I might just have to take a look at it.

They need to get working on a couple of things.

The biggest issue now is the vBIOS, the not downclocking of the video memory which MSI now does for the 5870. Adding a better fan profile when it does downclock.

Guys that bios and beta is the same ,I think. Look winrar archive saying that crc32 for both is the same and date modified also similar
    [IMG]

Upper one was dowloaded from Asus. Second was downloaded from beta bios thread.

Confirmed. The beta and the TW files are the same.

Personally, I'm still going to wait until the download link appears on the G73JH download page. Maybe that will be Monday morning when they return to work. :)

Still nice that you guys were able to confirm it even with the mix-up. Prevents me flashing it again. Been on it a few days and I seem to have less typos/typing errors. I had thought for sure it was just my typing on the different keyboard but now I'm pretty confident I was actually experiencing a problem. Then of course the correct FN + Esc for those of you that were tripping out about it. ;)

Easy flash. Asus utility that can be found in bios. Look for thread on this forum that describes how to use it.

Do NOT use a winflash utility on the G73. The only safe way to flash your bios is using the easy flash utility from the BIOS screen.
