I did a search of the forum and couldn't find any relevant posting about this issue.

I was wondering if anybody else is having issues with their default hard drive. Over the weekend the drive started doing the double-click-whirr every few seconds.

I've done a bit of research and it seems to be a major issue with this drive and some of Apple's OSX on MacBook Pros, and a found a few people with Dell laptops and HP laptops that mention this issue as well.

Since I have it as my secondary drive currently, I'm not seeing any issues other than the noise, but I wanted to see if others were having this issue. If so, have you fixed it and how?

It's a seagate drive so I'm not surprised it is noisy. I vaguely remember someone mentioning a program called notebook hardware control that can help bring down fan/HDD spinning noise... try googling it.

The HD is the worst part of this notebook period.

I thought the worst part about the HDD was no RAID options.
