Is there a way to actually install the drivers from the ATI site for this laptop? Everytime I try to uninstall the current drivers OR install the new ones over the current, it just does not work.

However, if I install them from the ASUS website, bingo, works like a charm.

Is there some sort of protection or legality that ASUS has against ATI drivers? The stock ones are pretty dated now, January 2010.

Thanks for your time and help!

You... just install them. There shouldn't be any issues. How does it "just does not work"?

When I install them - Whether I am doing a fresh install with CCC or not, it doesnt update the driver. It keeps the current (old) version that came stock with the laptop.

When I try to completely uninstall the current driver, and I use the CCC suite 10.3 (or even 10.2) download package - CCC will not even install. It goes through like everything is good and then does not show up as installed or anything.

Then, I redownload the drivers from the ASUS site, and boom, all is good. Installs great and everything.

I would really like to update these video drivers if possible.

    Thanks for your help.

If you can't figure out, then don't bother. If you can't install AMD drivers for mobile 5xxx, then it's a hopeless case.

You need the Mobility Radeon driver, not the Radeon desktop driver.

Go here and for the second section select Mobility Radeon, NOT Radeon.

Though, some people complain of gray screens with 10.3 Mobility Radeon driver on G73JH. But, you can try it and then go back to the Asus driver if you want.
