    Could someone with an A1 or other G73 model reply with the model number for the Bluetooth module? And is it the same as the G72. I have a Best Buy model and want to add the internal unit so I don't have to use the external dongle.

    Next, has anyone seen a smaller 150 watt AC power supply that will work with these G73 beasts? I checked Kensington and Belkin with no luck.

    That link unfortunately doesn't work, but I checked the Targus website and did not see a power supply over 90 watt. Asus supplies a 150watt for the i7 720 processors and 120 for the i7 620. How well is that 90 watt unit working?

    Ahh, I see. It looks like Targus used to make a 150w unit. I found a link to it on Insight's website, but it's marked as discontinued.

    I have a Targus one, 180w I think. I didn't respond as you said "smaller" and it is the same size as the original. If you are still interested I can find the model again, it is posted in another thread on this forum somewhere but probably hard to find.

    Do NOT go with a 90w unit, or anything else with less wattage.

    Found my old post:
    "A few pages back I mentioned a Targus 180w adapter that works perfect for $50 from mwave.com. It also runs cooler, guessing because it is rated higher wattage than the stock one. May also give a little better overclocking ability/stability too (but that highly depends on output power quality as well though).

    It was cheaper than a G72 one from Asus, and as I’ve seen here there are conflicting reports if that one would even work. You guys can do what you want but I’d stay away from the “no name” brand ones on ebay that cost more than either the Asus or Targus ones.

    Mwave part number AA72338 (180w)
    Targus part number APA-05US (180w)"

    Yes 90W is a no go.. ur laptop might just crash under load... u really need a 150W supply at least.. This monster has been known to to pull a lot more than 150W under load...

    also interested in the internal bluetooth module, any ideas which one we need? Would like to add that as well... so far with parts I had laying around I've got my BB model upgraded with Bluray and a 2nd 500GB HDD, bluetooth is my final wish without tying up a USB slot, as this machine is port limited in my opinion.

    Sorry I messed up my link. SKU # is AA72338 and is available on mwave.com. My first time using them and I was pretty impressed.

    I've ordered from Mwave previously going many years back.. They're a good company for sure with a huge inventory.

    As for size, I was trying to find one which is physically smaller. Often the 3rd party units are much thinner and thus better for traveling.

    I ordered the HDD bracket from them about a month ago and it's currently enroute to my door. I would maybe hold off until I get it unless you feel daring.

    In terms of ordering actual Asus parts, there's;

    Asus Online eStore - Asus subsidiary which sells most Asus parts, but will only ship to US and Canada. Although they don't currently list any parts for the G73Jh. you may want to contact them directly to see if they can provide you with the bluetooth module.

    and as UtopianThomas pointed out,

    Asusparts - Swedish company, (which appears to ship worldwide), providing lots of different kinds of Asus parts, although they state on their homepage;
    As aramis109 pointed out, they do list parts available for the G73Jh, and the bluetooth module is listed here.

    Good Luck..

    I don't have my G73Jh yet, but I went ahead and ordered the Targus 180w adapter from Mwave. It arrived today and it came with only 3 tips, L1, L2, and L3. Can someone who has this adapter confirm which tip works with the G73Jh? (If it's not one of those three, then I guess I'll need to order an additional tip too..)

    Thanks..

    It's definitely one of the three. :p I know, not much help. I have that adapter and use it daily downstairs. I think it's the medium-sized one. I can look at them all once I get home.

    At least you confirmed I shouldn't have to buy an additional tip..

    Thanks..

    So, just to be sure, all the G73's are the same right, even Best Buy models? SO, if I do buy the bluetooth card, it'll work just fine?

    Thanks!

    The guts are mostly the same. Same mobo, gpu, and cpu so whatever you plug in it should play nicely.

    Hmm...I ordered that same Targus 180W power supply and it did come with 3 tips. Two of them are the same size and both fit the G73JH. One of them has yellow plastic on the tip (tip L2) and the other has black plastic on the tip (tip L1).

    I'm afraid to try them because if the difference between L1 and L2 is that the polarity of the tip is reversed...and I pick the wrong one...I'm afraid of what that will do.

    Any confirmation of which tip people are using?

    Thanks!

    On the Asus power supply there is a little picture of the polarity of the tip... should be able to match that to the tip that you have.

    On mine it shows the + going to the middle, and the - to the outside, but confirm that on yours!

    Right...so I can see on my Asus PS that it has + inside and - outside. I can look on the Targus PS and it shows which pins on the tip connector are + and which are -...but I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me for the tips which pins from the tip connector connect to the inside and which connect to the outside. :/

    Hehehe...I've actually heard from multiple people and apparently both the L1 and L2 tips work. I think that the L2 tip is a bit tighter. Thanks for the replies all!
