    Hey guys,

I recently repasted my GPU/CPU with great luck taking my temps from idle 75-78 down to 58-61.

I have noticed recently that when the ac adapter is plugged in, it makes the idle temps rise to 66-68 idle. I know that the adapater raise temps a bit, but is it normal for it to be this much? This is during normal web surfing. If i disconnect the adapter the temps immediately drop to the 58-61 range within a few minutes.

Also seems like my right side fan (cpu and also near the ac adapter port) runs constantly faster than my gpu fan, not sure if that has any bearing on the issue.

The temperature settings for fan speed are different for the GPU and CPU so that is normal. Your GPU is also clocking differently depending on whether it is on battery or AC, you could check what are the clocks in each situation.

Hello Hawkeyedm2003, you can use HWiNFO64 to check your temps, clocks and fan speed for both your GPU and CPU. You can use it to check a lot of stuff about your hardware. Just as tijo said, plugging the AC adapter switches your GPU clocks and voltage higher compared to only on battery. This is the main reason that GPU temps get higher too. For example, I am using the vBIOS that Chastity made. When I'm on battery, it switches my clocks to 100/150 and my voltage to 0.95V. But when I'm on A/C, it switches to 400/1000 and 1.150V.

    Thanks guys,

My clock speeds are switching from 700/1000 and my voltages are .950/1.150.
So I expect a slight increase in temps. Is a 10 degree increase normal?

Your GPU fan is on the right side near the AC port, not the CPU. :) Try blowing out your vents with compressed air to address the high idle temps.

At 700/1000, those temps are fine imo.

I just cleaned and repasted per my first post.

Ok, good enough then. Thx all.
