Maybe my knowledge of how equilizers work are just off. But I don't think lowering the 4th, 5th, and 6th sliders (starting from the left) are suppose to put the sound back at default.

Anyway, on to my main question; Are there any other sound software I can use other then realtek or creative thats free?

there was one that someone mentioned like a plugin or whatever ... i can't remember
do some searching in the forum -
The search is broken atm, thats why I asked. Or maybe its something on my side. Get an 15 error message, I wait 1 min, still get it.

here it is
haven't tryed it
but someone suggested it that works good
Breakaway Audio Enhancer
i think it is a good alternative if you cannot install creative -
Demo version, but thats fine. Thanks

My best audio upgrade for the G73JH was a Creative USB HD
You can play with the Realtek output all you want, but having better hardware > plugins.

If my house sells today I am going to celibrate by buying one of these. I've been waiting for awhile now.

hehe nice way to celebrate

lol you should have got a new laptop or something

I've got a first gen iBasso that I love. I highly recommend them with a pair of nice headphones. On my old desktop I was using the digital coax out of its X-Fi, but they're also capable of being run via the optical out from any headphone jack with a mini TOSLINK port.
Of course, HDMI to a home theater is best, but the wife is usually watching NCIS marathons or something.

After weeks of wasting my time, my buyer backed out, then changed their mind, and today changed it again; so no new X-fi 1095 HD for me. Their earnest money deposit of $1500 does nothing to placate my rage. Now I have to find some peace and wait for another buyer. One day....
