Yes they do. However, the ones that didn't work had only 1 GB storage while the one that worked had 2 GB. Don't know if that was the reason??? Stoked that it worked though.

I'm assuming it makes no difference whether or not the G73 is plugged in/charging/getting AC power or just running off the batter while doing this? Probably a stupid question but I've never done BIOS stuff. Don't wanna risk anything.

And should I delete everything else off the flash drive I use beforehand?

MAKE SURE THE G73 IS PLUGGED IN, AND ON A/C POWER WHENEVER DOING ANY UPDATES. THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT!

From my own personal experience, I always like to use a blank, reformatted flash drive. I think it just makes its easier and more straightforward.

I bricked my newly arrived G73 Bestbuy version after flashing it to v209. I came loaded with v206!!!!I've saved the bios file onto the C:\ and use EasyFlash inside bios. BestBuy Reps were so STUPID they wouldn't know the bios version when I asked for it!!!!Pathetic!Oh well wish me luck guys as I am here in the Philippines. I dunno how this thing is gonna be dealt with by Asus Customer support.

Necro etc. However, While generally recommended to flash from a USB drive, I actually flashed from 206->209->206 again all from HDD with no issues. There are reasons why using a USB drive is better, but HDD isn't totally unsafe if you don't have access to a USB drive for some reason.

Hi, I have upgraded G73Jh BIOS 203->209 and found out that my OEM windows become unlicensed. I checked the BIOS with SLIC_toolkit_v32 and there is no more SLIC 2.1. I reflshed different versions of BIOS 203, 209, 213 and still the same problem. Does anybody have same problem and what can be done about it.? Thanks!

Activate by telephone. Call microsoft and give them the product code. They should let you reactivate. Then backup your registration with ABR so it never happens again.

May I ask why WinFlash is not a better alternative?

If windows locks up when you flash for some reason you could end up with an expensive doorstop. Also, older versions of Winflash caused some bad bios flash, the latest ones are better from what i hear, but i still recommend EasyFlash. Anyways, who doesn't have a FAT32 flash drive somewhere

Why be running the OS kernel + the drivers + processes when you don't have to? It's just another thing that can go wrong.
