I understand this is a very common problem, but I can't seem to find a solution. My laptop arrived today and was functioning normally for about 4 hours.

I flashed the latest BIOS as was suggested and rebooted, and everything was fine. However, I tried Gary Key's fix for the backlight on the keyboard, and after setting the HDD boot option #1 to my flash drive, the laptop showed a message along the lines of "Reboot or Insert Correct Boot Media", so I rebooted and the screen now does not turn even turn on at boot.

No POST splash screen or anything, just the 3 button lights in the top right corner of the keyboard turn on. I can hear the HDD start up and spin, but nothing happens. I've tried removing the battery for a while and trying again, but still the same thing happens

Is there any known solution to this kind of problem? I would like to try to fix it myself before resorting to RMA, if possible

How do I do that? I cannot access the BIOS menu, as the POST screen does not appear, and no keys seem to do anything.

On the underside, next to the access panel. It's a small hole. Use something thin to depress the button, hold down for 10 secs.

I tried the button, with and without the battery in, and still nothing. It's the hole labeled with a >O< symbol, correct?

My G73JH did the exact same thing this morning. I had to push the power button about 15 times to get it to start.

Yes Canas that is correct. Also try removing battery and AC cord, then hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds, then try to power on with AC and or battery.
