DC power jack broke so I got a replacement from laptopaid on ebay. Exact same one 60-NY8MB1200-B0A. Followed disassembly videos to the tee. Repasted GPU/CPU. Plugged it all back in and it's dead now. Everything worked before motherboard replacement. No lights no sounds nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Why did you replace the board? I have a dc jack replacement tutorial in my signature. It takes some patience but it's better than buying a new board.

The possibilities are endless. What have you tried for troubleshooting tasks?

Big ones: Improperly seated GPU, CPU, RAM or PCI card. Loose cables. A short somewhere. The kill switch. All else fails: the board you got is DOA.

Worse case scenario you can return the board to laptopaid. I've bought countless parts from them and they're always willing to work with you.

Okay thanks for the responses. I'll try some troubleshooting. Question: Even when the cpu holder was in the locked position I was still able to pull the chip out. It did drop in when I turrned the dial to locked but was not secure. Does that sound right?

You should not be able to pull the chip out unless you use excessive force. That doesn't sound right at all.

Got chip to seat correctly reconnected everything and still no luck. I have no way to tell if the motherboard is DOA or if I fried something. Any recomendations for a diagnosis and repair service where I can send it in? I found Motherboard Repairs

If it never worked and you got no partial boots I would go with DOA. Do make sure you use an antistatic wristband when working with electronics.
