Last night while on my computer the orange battery light came on and it wouldn't charge past 40%. I tried to re-calibrate my battery by letting it drain completely and charge overnight. While doing this I noticed that my temps were much higher than they used to be, I was running furmark for about 5 minutes and it hit 103c. At that point I stopped running furmark and let it die on it's own.
After I killed it I then decided to pop the battery off and the piece on the bottom to clear the dust out using compressed air since it is supposed to help with the heat issues.
I charged the computer all night and it came back with an 88% charge and everything seemed fine, except the temps were a little too high. After looking around for a bit I found a post that said updating the INF, RST and Catalyst drivers helped in the past and it has been a while since I have updated the drivers. While updating catalyst I received a BSOD and the computer crashed. When I turned it back on my screen resolution was gone and I started getting the infamous crackling noise every minutes (I had it before, but rarely). After a few minutes of this happening the computer crashed and turned off. It then wouldn't let me turn it back on for about 5 minutes, when this whole process would repeat while trying to find a solution.
I did finally get the Catalyst drivers to install, I think, but after I pressed finish the computer gave me a cracking noise (which kept coinciding with java asking to update) and shut itself down. I have yet to update the INF or RST, even though I have the files on my computer ready to install.
I also haven't turned it on since getting the catalyst drivers to complete and I am writing this whilst waiting for it to let me turn it on.
Anyone have this issue before and know what might be causing it?
EDIT: I ended up starting the computer up again and the resolution issue wasn't solved. I ended up re-installing the drivers through device manager and it started working again. It hasn't been on for too long, so I can't be sure if it's fixed since I still don't know what the underlying issue was at the beginning.

Hello Outtawack311,
It seems to me that you are experiencing some type of overheating problem. Have you checked how hot the air both of your fan exhaust blows? I think you should start on cleaning your fans first. If using compressed-air can to blow-off the dusts won't help on solving your heating problems, I recommend you dismantle the whole beast while following the guide on the BTOtech video on YouTube.
In this way, you would be able to clean and remove all the obstacles on your heatsink fins, and also you'll be able to clean exhaust fans and its blades. If you are confident on dismantling the beast a little further, try to repaste the CPU and GPU too using ICD7. You've mentioned that it takes a while for your G73 to turn-on again and I think it is caused by an overheated component (probably GPU or CPU). It takes a while to power-on again because it needs to cool itself for a while until it is safe to operate again at a safe temperature.
In this way, after cleaning your fans and heatsink, you would now be able to check your operating system for error messages without experiencing a hard-shutdown due to overheating. I recommend you to flash your vBIOS to Chastity's as it has better clock configurations for better temperature. Chastity's vBIOS can allow your GPU to be as cool around 40C-50C. Afterwards, uninstall your Catalyst driver and make sure it is "properly" removed so that you could install an updated version. Be sure to be using the 213 BIOS too.
