After trying to update the bios unsuccessfully nothing on my laptop turns on, no lights, no spin up of fans or the screen lighting up in blackness. I have it completely disassembled at the moment and have gotten very good at it trying to reset the batter on the bios and other things. Problem is I couldnt find a repair shop with enough knowledge to actually have balls to do something more than look at the thing :\ any help guys? I will do anything and everything before I buy a new motherboard. Also can I just buy a new bios chip?

Sounds like easiest fix would be to buy a replacement BIOS chip off ebay ($15-20) and then replace it. As long as you are able to do it yourself, though if you aren't and it is disassembled it shouldn't be hard to find a repair shop that will do it for you (with you supplying the chip of course). Did you use a fresh FAT formatted USB stick for updating it? If so very bad luck it didn't work.
