Hey guys, I haven't been around much in the past 12 months or so, but I'm gonna try to dive back into this.

I'm the owner (A sad one now) of a G73JH with a 5870. I have used and abused it, literally. I have carried it with me 5 days a week to work and back for almost 2 years exactly. I've come to the point that everything is starting to go. The system still runs, but the charger finally gave up today. The battery went last month, and well It's just not up to the standards I'm wanting, especially with the desktop I've built.

I've looked at buying a couple of refurbished G75's and g74s, because they are cheaper and I had AMAZING luck with my g73. My thing is though, if I'm going to drop another 1000$ I'd like to get some peoples opinions. I plan on putting a new ssd in, and more than likely adding ram, but I want to know if you guys think the leap is worth it or should I spend the 100 bucks to get the G73 up and running, knowing it could die at any point.

I have also looked into the sagers with the 7970m in it for about 1300 bucks.

I'm really undecided as to what to do.

To give you a background, I do game on it a pretty good bit. I've been playing DayZ and will be dropping the standalone onto it. I also play battlefield 3 so that'll be on there as well. I also run a couple of YT channels so I have to have the ability to edit raw video on it. What I'm saying is, it will be used.

Any advice you guys can give, I'd truly appreciate it.

Why not ask in the WNSIB section, you could give a shot at brands other than Asus. I would definitely consider the sagers.

I meant this: What Notebook Should I Buy? - A Laptop Buyers Guide, don't sweat it acronyms can be ambiguous sometimes. There is a sticky with the info you can put there to help people with giving you suggestions. Sometimes you get suggestions you expect and sometimes some you don't. I hadn't planned on my M6700 originally for example and the M4700 suggestion i got there is what directed me to it.
