I've been reading a lot about overheating issues on the forums but I have yet to spot an issue like my own. Just a few days ago I got my laptop back from ASUS. I had to set up an RMA because of the GPU overheating and the audible crackling sound that some of us have been having. As for the overheating issue and the crackling, everything has been wonderful. They replaced my GPU and Motherboard and I haven't had these problems since. However, now whenever I play any type of graphic intensive game the laptop will decide to force shutdown on me. It never happens at the same time during gameplay and it's always random. It's almost like it's overheating but I've checked the temperature logs for the GPU and CPU multiple times and none of these problems have shown up. I don't really feel like RMAing my laptop a second time as I waited almost a month on my laptop being fixed last time. Has anybody else had this problem or does anybody have a solution for it?

Here is a link to a video of one of the shutdowns. I doubt it will be that helpful as it looks like your average GPU overheating.

That is exactly how mine shut down while gaming when the gpu was overheating.

Get the AMD GPU clock tool and start the thermal sensors and leave it running and game for about 10 minutes and then see what the max temp was.

I got that last night after updating my stock ati drivers to 10.8. Once I rolled back it went away. I would recommend you try the stock drivers or see the GSOD fix sticky.

I would also take a look at the Creative audio issues as well if that doesn't work.
