Hi everyone,
I was playing Amnesia the Dark Descent today and every 5 minutes or so the G73 would stop playing and go into sleep mode for some reason. I am using an external monitor and I have to open up the laptop and push a button to wake up the laptop, and then the game resumes fine. It also happened when I tried playing Dark Souls.
What could be causing this? Is is overheating? My idle temps are around 60C so I assume the GPU could be getting to ~80C during the game. It never just shutdown completely, it just went into sleep mode and resumed as soon as I pushed a button on the laptop's keyboard.
EDIT: Also it never happens when I am surfing the web or watching a movie; it only happens when I am playing a game.

First install a temp monitor program like Hwinfo32 or Hwinfo64 to see exact ingame temps. Also power options - choose what lid closing does- when I close the lid - do nothing
Also check the sleep after setting in advanced power plan settings. -
Here is the CSV file from HW Info. I ran Amnesia and it crashed/went to sleep at exactly 6:47PM pacific time. The highest temps I can see is like 90.5C.

Bumppppppp
EDIT: I forgot to mention another weird problem with the laptop. Sometimes (seemingly at random) when I use the external monitor and I am just browsing the web (non-gaming) there is a loud staticky noise that starts and the laptop hardlocks until I force it to shut-off (holding power button). I am not sure if this is related to the other problem, but it is something I would like to fix nonetheless.
