I recently began having HDD issues with my G73JH. The computer BSODs randomly and, on restart, doesn't recognize the presence of the HDD. Resetting the BIOS to defaults and restarting usually fixes this. I researched around for a while and noticed others having this issue with most people pointing toward a HDD failure, so I replaced the HDD (from Momentus 7200 to WD Scorpio Blue). However, the issues persist and the new HDD (< 1mo old) is actually audibly failing (audible clicks follows by BSOD). I find it unlikely that two HDDs would fail like this (HD Tune also indicates the HDDs as "OK" in health). On the last crash, the system displayed a "NTLDR is missing" error after BIOS.

Before I buy another HDD, is it possible to check the controller, and what are other possible known causes/fixes of this? The computer is no longer under warranty.

    Thank you!
