As I'm sure you all know, the G73jh has a 1920x1080 display. The TV I have plugged my HDMI cable into also uses a 1920x1080 display. However, for some reason, the image overfills the TV, meaning that all of the edges are cropped out. Halp?

Hnim you will get this resolved here. When you are connected, if you open CCC do you notice any settings that would have decreased the resolution?
It probably is a setting on the TV on second thought, this thread most likely has the info you need:

In CCC you can adjust the overscan for the external monitor (TV). For most FHD TVs I would think 0 underscan/overscan is appropriate.
On your TV there may be settings as well. For example, on my Toshiba I need to set its "Picture Size" setting to "Native" instead of the default "Natural". -
On my Sony TV there is a setting called "full pixel". If your TV has this, try to play around with it.

Typically if the computer display is showing up smaller than the TV screen, with black borders then it's a laptop setting. (Display Scaling in CCC)
If the laptop output is too large for the TV screen and you can't see some of the edges of your desktop then it's a television setting such as Zoom or Hfill for example. -
Is that also an ATI card in your rig?
