Hello.
Im having very wierd problem with this asus g73jh I bought it about 9 months ago and I have 2 problems First and the most annoying is that the laptop do lag spikes in the game , let me explain it:
For example I run the witcher 2 on high/med settings everything is fine in combat everywhere but after some time to the game I bet around 10 minutes laptop start to do sometimes ( EVEN when I stay in place and look at the same fu.. point not moving my mouse ) lag spikes every 2-4 minutes . Ok let me explain it on the other game , because I know people will say lower graphics etc.etc. For example on red faction Guerilla or World of Warcraft ( no , not in town ) the same thing I lowerd the graphics in red faction to medium destroying everything around me , it runs smooth without even an 5 fps drops, but suddenly after around 5-10 minutes to the game it spike lag for 1-5 seconds then run smooth again after 1-3 min spike lag and same thing over and over again IN EVERY GAME!.
Thats not all, I tried to investigate that thing and I noticd ( In my opinion ) its related to heat problem . I ran GPU-Z in background so I can watch my temp's, and I noticed GPU Core Clock Drops from 700.0Mhz to around 400 Mhz. The problem is it instantly drops when my temp's are getting past 105 C ( ye I even get 113 something around that ) then going high to 700MHZ and drops again and thats happening for the time my temp's are geting insanely high around 105-113 I bet celsius.
So reasuming everything I think that the lag spikes In game I get is related to my damn heat problem , what you guys think ? And how can I fix these lag spikes...
Btw. When im on desktop ( doing nothing ) I have 76 C temperatures , I have i5 and did the core paking thing in registry updated bios to 209 , 11.5b from charity's website new drivers etc etc and still same problem... Please help me resolve it .
Ps sorry for my english if it wasnt good enough to explain my very bad and wierd situation.
Ps 2. when I touch the back veins the right fan is spinning Im sure for 100% but the other ( left one ) like no air coming out of it or maybe its dead? ... I do hope you all know what I mean![]()

Simple... your GPU is overheating, and throttling down.
Time to blow out your vents with compressed air. If that doesn't help, you'll need a repaste of the thermal paste. -
To do thing with compressed air , I need to spin off with screwdriver the laptops casing or w/e its called ?? and how do I do thing with repaste of the thermal paste?
-
Firstly massive respect for hitting those temps they are some of the highest I have seen and the fact your GPU can still run to reach those temps shows you must have a pretty meaty chip, would love to see what you can get out of it.
However firstly you have a problem and it does sounds as though your heatsink is clogged with crap so blast some compressed air into the vents or unless you have metal lungs blow into the vent yourself - with the power removed and it turned off of course.
Doubtful but use HWINFO or a similiar program to check your fans are both working its not unheard of.
If you dont notice a difference the mighty and worthy repaste if your last and probably best option in this case. -
thanks a lot for answering guys will try to blow dust away from the vents ! But if it wont help, how do I repaste ?? Is it hard? Can I broke something ?
And about the temps, yes Im starting to worry that my laptop will just blow with fire sometimes when I place my head next to the Right vent it fells like im in Las Vegas at summer lol.. -
I posted this yesterday:
Its more daunting than difficult and once you have done it once you can do it a thousand times. The trickiest parts are:
1. Making sure you remove every screw before pulling at something.
2. Be extremely gentle with the keyboard and spend as long as u need on it.
3. Treat the audio cable like a womens gentle bits.
4. Gently lever out the motherboard, first time its in there quite solid.
5. Reattach all wires and dont trap any wires or cover the reset button.
Finally the most important part of all dont forget to put RAM slot 1 back in
BTO video gives you the basics but ignore the way he removes the keyboard its a wack job
You also have all of these links and there are plenty more about.
You can view some of my information from my SIG.

Research Research Research. The most important part is preparing and making sure you have everything you need before you start. People have rushed in and busted wires and snapped important parts of the motherboard because they rushed and didnt prep properly. Put aside a good 2-3 hours and you will be very happy with the results. I went from 105oC+ at max load to 80oC with IC7. -
thanks a lot for the answer , but I rather send it to someone who know and can do it rather than do it myself
Btw offtopic ; is my english bad or I wrote a clear and understanding note about my problem?
