So far this mean machine has been very lack luster. I bought this machine for the purpose of gaming (as I am sure most do) yet I have all sorts of problems with many games. I have bought and tried Civ5, Bad Company 2, and Blood Bowl to name the most recent and none work.

Each game I can get to the title screen and that is about it. After that it either stays black or I become frozen and have to ctrl+alt+delete. This is extremely frustrating!!!! Does anyone know the issue? If it was just one game I would blame the game...

The other problem is as follows: The games I can plan (like Company of Heroes, Age of Empires III) are ridiculously small. I understand the screen on this computer is an odd size but I mean the game screen is TINY!

Can anyone please help on either problem. If there is no fix for this I am going to have to start finding out how to get my money back. I did not pay this much money to get a gaming computer that plays only "select games!!! "

Are you playing it straight out the box with no changes?

Yeah for the most part... besides automatic updates... Did I miss some big fix/patch? (For the lap top)

The games I have updated as far as I could

I'd refer to the sticky but I would suggest running a clean install of Windows to get rid of the stock poop thoroughly. Some of the stock stuff like the Creative stuff can cause problems. If you haven't already, update your BIOS and vBIOS. But mostly just run a clean install, all you need to know is in the sticky for most problems.

    Update your gpu drivers first.

Well, first off, update your BIOS to 213 and get the updated vBIOS on that unit so you can use the newest drivers.

See my sig links for more info.

Sounds like simple driver issues to me. Sounds like something that would happen if your video drivers weren't installed correctly or weren't 100 percent compatible.

yeah, something is up... I play a few of those games and have had zero issues. Bad Co 2 was awesome from start to finish on high settings! You don't have the Creative drivers installed and are running Steam do you? that caused issues on the stock drivers and bios....
