    Hi guys,

I've had a look through the screen threads already, but i'd like to get some feedback from anyone with a matte 1080 screen before i replace mine.

    Any regrets after getting one?

Also, knowing my talent for overlooking the obvious these days. Do i need to order a new connector cable with it? Do all screens have the connector in the same place?

Any new models of screen out now that are recommended? Any to definitely avoid?

    Thanks! :)

So long as you keep the resolution the same and type then you are pretty safe as asus do use the standard connector type.

If reflections are annoying you then the matte is worth going for but you will get a slight reduction in picture quality.

Cheers Meaker. I had a matte display on my desktop for years and I was quite happy with it, so it shouldn't be a problem.

@GremlinUK: Do you currently have a glare 1920x1080 screen?

If yes, then I want it!

PM me for more info. etc.

Lol, you can pick up a new panel fairly cheaply.

Not here, Ilve in the outback of northern Thailand, and the postman is a notorious clepto, you know what a clepto is?

Try order something from abroad, not a broad, but from the civilized world, and you won´t get it, scheiss 4th world backyard.

Anyhow, was thinking to buy a new one, el cheapo from the local store, but of course the crappy G750 has the matte POS UOA, whatever screen, arrrgggh!!!

Forget Asus, it´s crap nowadays, with all the others having good cooooling, the only reason I bought my G73JH 3 years ago, with the temps @ +30C year round.

    Rant complete, thank you...

You don't want it. It suffers from PSOD which is why it's getting replaced :-/

Just ordered the AUO B173HW01 V.5 matte from Laptop Express for £75. Seems to be a good price. I just hope it is what it's supposed to be! lol

Not used them before but did you look for terms like "if out of stock will ship compatible replacement"? But yes ofc I know what a clepto is :p

No mention of it. I have had a mail saying that the matte versions are on order and should be in next week. :)

They sent me the Chimei although it says AUO on the invoice. The screen itself is fine (not done a pixel test yet though), but i'm a bit miffed that there was no mention of it.
