I gotta say this is one kick forum. Puts all the rest I found to shame no doubt.

Primarily I bought the Asus as I need the power for audio and or video editing as well as live broadcasting.

Bought from BestBuy and they suggested after listening to what my needs are in a notebook it would be the way to go.

Basically I could not believe a notebook with this much power has a MONO input for the Mic jack.

The manual does say you can hook an external device to the jack BUT who really wants to listen to MONO MP3's ect. I mean really

I decided to post as I've seen so many great post that POSSIBLY there's a way to enjoy using that mic jack input in STEREO.

If not is it POSSIBLE to have that jack and audio input device changed to a stereo? Has anyone done this or know of anyone who has successfully?

Aside from this one small thing I believe it may fit my needs but I gotta decide quick before the 14 day return policy kicks in. I'd hate to have this much money in a notebook that just won't suit my needs.

Lastly.. i guess there's one other thing. Seems I do get kicked off FREQUENTLY using my Verizon Mobile Internet. Not sure if it's the service or the Asus. Not found any threads on this issue but thought I'd check while I'm posting.

I really appreciate your help and any feedback you may have.

    James

Most headsets are mono, thus the reason. If you really need a stereo mic setup, I would suggest looking into an external USB soundcard device with that feature.

Some jacks are switchable for line-level stereo or mono microphone in, but there's no way you'd be able to add channels to the onboard audio.

This is not the right place to get help for this, you should post on a verizon forum or look at the support page for the manufacturer of your cellular modem.
