    Hi All,

Just bought this machine for a friend who is a quadriplegic and I am attempting to install Dragon Naturally Speaking but the system freezes when trying to setup the microphone volume setup. I understand there is an issue with DNS and built in microphones etc but I have tries all the fixes that I can find and still it freezes - the Realtek driver is 11/20/2009 ver 6.0.1.5978 which seems to be the latest...

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed

    Thanks

There are newer drivers than that I think.

However if its truly a problem, get a external microphone that uses USB (like a usb headset) since it will use its own different drivers and will give much better quality and response than any laptop built in microphone anyways.

Id use the built in mic of any laptop for nothing more than emergency, if I planned some kind of need I would be using an external one.
