    Hallo people from all over the interweb.

    First of all a little history;
    Bought G73JH-A2 a few months into 2010 from B&H Photo - it is the standard unedited model.
    I got my first PSOD about half a year after the purchase. The thing that triggered PSOD was a change of resolution in a game called Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. It is one of those PSODs that begins from the moment the screen is energized.
    So I sent an RMA, and it got fixed. They had to replace the screen as it is a hardware related issue.

    Now my question is this:
    Is it safe trying to play Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, now the screen is replaced?
    (I have played over 20 games so far, before and after psod - and NFS:HP is the one that triggered the coloured devil)

    Why don't you boot the computer, load up NFS:HP, PLAY THE GAME, and see if the issue still persists.

    You make it sound as if the computer might explode as soon as you touch NFSHP shortcut lol.

    Because I would rather get some feedback on whether it is or isn't worth doing.
    From 1st febuary I will go on a 3 month long trip, and I do not have an option of RMAing during that time. The consequence is huge.

    Well, ask yourself this : Do you think it was software related or hardware related? If it was software related, it could happen ANYTIME. If it was hardware related, it is most likely fixed.

    If Hot Pursuit could kill hardware, then you can sue the developers of Need for Speed.

    I can't remember anyone experiencing the PSOD twice, at least that I have read about. I guess this is a question of how lucky (or unlucky) you are feeling. ;)

    had a PSOD screen as well when playing warcraft. got the unit replaces (was before 15 days)
    when I got the new unit the first thing I did was change to all possible supported resolution to see if everything is ok :)
    so you should do it as well before your warranty expires
    edit: I am not sure if you're trolling or not, the issue is non-native resolutions it is not game related.

    Whenever Windows 7 boot and the login screen shows, I see half of my screen appear as purple, and then it instantly fixes itself. Is this supposed to be common?
