I have a G73JH from Bestbuy and I was just wondering, if I hooked it up to an external display that does 3D, can the 5870M do 3D? I'd probably have to lower the resolution, but would it work? Or is it not capable?

I don't believe the G73JH had HDMI 1.4, so no, it won't put out any 3D images... :(

ATI does not hold the right for 3D Nvidia do or they do at the moment so nope. 3D on a mobile card for gaming is not worth it because of the performance being halfed.

No, but it has 1.3c HDMI, and can do 3D with 1.3c or 1.4 HDMI cables. You would need to get the software from AMD to enable the feature. It's free for 6xxx, but 5xxx needs to buy a license.

    So wrong. So very wrong.

HD5870M is fully 3D capable, it's just Asus didn't implement it. HP had 3D notebooks using HD5850M, BluRay and gaming before the G73JW was released...

I guess such a license is quite expensive and only for companies available? Or is there also a way to get it as private customer for a fair price?

There should be a page for AMD customers to purchase.
