A while ago i asked a question as to which SODIMM slots worked with which in the G73JH. Given that i ran out of memory doing CFD simulations on my G73 at the beginning of the week, i did the only snesible thing to do and got more RAM for my JH, same RAM as the one that originally came with the laptop, kingston SODIMM 1333MHz 9-9-9-24.
Well, i took the opportunity to check which slot was working with which and i found another interesting thing.
I'll number the slots this way:
4: When you open the bottom panel, the one closest to you, farthest from the motherboard.
3: The one in the middle on the three slots on the bottom of the laptop
1: The bottom slot that is closest to the motherboard.
2: The slot on the other side of the mobo, right under the keyboard.
Ok, so first things first, i kept slot 4 populated for obvious reasons regarding disassembly. I then proceeded to try slot 1,3 & 4 to see which was tied to the SODIMM in slot 2 for dual channel.
The results as reported by CPU-z
3 & 2: single channel
1 & 2: single channel
4 & 2: won't go through POST
So here are my conclusions, like some asus desktop board, you need at least one of a particular pair of slot to be populated for the laptop to post and those are 1 & 3. Second conclusion, for dual channel, configure 1 & 3 with matching SODIMMs and 2 & 4 with matching SODIMMs.
So there you have it, for those who will upgrade with pairs of two different RAM brands, put them one pair in 2 & 3 and one pair in 1 & 4 and if you plan to go with only two SODIMMS, slots 2 & 3.

I assume your numbering scheme maps to Asus':

Yeah, thanks for the manual pic, i'll rename the numbers accordingly.
