First off, I'm a du***ss and I deleted the recovery partition of my G73JH when I moved to an SSD. I used a vanilla W7 Home Premium then used phone activation to activate it.
But now, I want to sell my G73JH and want to restore most of it to stock. Is there a way to get the recovery partition anywhere? Yes, I know it's a longshot, but I might get lucky.

You can restore the initial Windows 7 installation, including the recovery partition, from the recovery DVDs.
This is assuming that you spent two hours burning the DVDs when you first got your G73. -
Do u just need someone to create the recovery set for you?
Cheers, -
Wow, that would be awesome if someone could do it

I dug up my recovery disks and a spare 500GB drive. The recovery process will only recover to the same size drive as the original (there's a convoluted method to get around this but it's just easier to restore to the same size drive).
I am testing the validity of the recovery disks by recovering to this spare drive.
Once confirmed I will rip the six disks to DVD Masters .cdr files and post them and send you a link via PM. You can then burn them at your leisure.

Wow. Thank you so much!

Full recovery to 500GB worked. It took 59.26 minutes to load all the DVDs and another 35 mins to boot Windows for the first time. The upload will take some time since it's almost 20GB. Let me know how it turns out.
Good luck with the sale once the system is prepped.

You must be a freakin saint! I mean, I'm all for helping folks out. I do it all the time, but there is no way I'm going to create all of that data and then spend an hour uploading it to the web.
No offense, Xeven. That's just a whole lotta Saturday devoted to someone that you don't know. You owe Panzer06 a case of beer! -
Panzer06, you are the man, that's very kind of you, a good case study for the cyberculture essay that i'm working on, lol
BTW, can you send me the link to download those recovery dvds?, i deleted the recovery partition as well.
-
Indeed. I owe panzer06 big time. He's awesome!
-
Certainly no saint. Just want to believe someone would help me if I needed some obscure assistance.
It didn't take too long since it's mostly just stick in the disk and walk away. I didn't really need to test it but wanted to make sure I didn't send defective disks. I don't drink but cookies, cakes and pies are great!
I have two ISPs and have tried both and they are both crazy slow on uploads. Only getting between 78-350KB/sec. At this rate it will be Monday before the upload is complete. If it does not work I can mail them.
Provided the upload completes in our lifetime...

Take a deep breath. Focus your chi. Everything is going to work out OK for you.
Use the license code on the bottom of the laptop with this:

Then install your drivers:
