Re-pasted my g73jh on the weekend, it was getting super hot and randomly turning off, thought you guys might like to see the mess I found inside...

My wife has a few cats...

After I vacuumed all the cat hair out I cleaned the chips down and re-pasted with Arctic Cooling MX-4 (because I had 4 syringes of it left over)

    Notes:

    1. Double Sided sticky tape holding the keyboard down... is lame
    2. Sticky tape EVERYWHERE holding down is not cool.
    3. I broke my CPU fan power connector, be VERY careful with that plug on the motherboard, I had to kind of shove mine back together and put a bit of glue on it, as all the pins came out of the plug. Plug works again now without the pins falling out.

Everything else is fairly straight forward, oh and remember not to put 4 of the motherboard screws in until the top cover is on, because they screw THROUGH that cover :p

    That was impressively clogged!

Good Job on your re-paste. +1 rep

Yeah about the connectors, the same thing happened with my M18X, though the M18X's fan pins are far more fragile compared to the G73's

Now that I have popped my g73 warranty voiding cherry, next phase is embedding my razer mamba receiver into the case... Its thin so I think I can slip it into the palm rest...

As long as the yellow seal on the CPU+heatsink was not broken its still technically under warranty.

You read the part where I took the CPU heatsink off, cleaned the CPU and reapplied thermal paste right

You cannot remove the CPU heat-sink without breaking that seal.

Also I was wearing my favorite shirt

On the back it says to put in a cup of hot water for 5 min.
But i used it regular on 2 desktops and 3 laptops and it was easy you just have to be strong enough to put 50 pounds of pressure down which im sure every man can. And the temps will be great. its worth the struggle.

Sounds dicey, I tend to follow the instructions on stuff like that, I wouldn't want it fracturing or anything.

Also as I mentioned, I have 4 syringes of MX-4 lying around still from my toolbox so I was just using up my current stock, I find it easy to apply and store and I haven't had any issues with it in the past.
