I'm getting 83c when running prime.... Repasted with IC7... Is this normal? I think I may have applied too much.... Not use to the IC7 thermal paste.... Not sure if I applied it correctly...

83C is the highest out of the 3 temps monitored? Which temp sensor was it exactly?

At stock clocks you shouldn't be touching 83C really, but its not bad either, Just 'okay'

The IC7 will get better in a few days. Not sure why; maybe it outgasses or something. But in my experience it always works better after a few days.

What is your idle temp ?

For load temp 83 is abit high should be near 70-73. The 83c could be that the old thermal pads are not in place and the heat is from mem. not core.

IC7 does take about 24h to take max effect but yes it should go down abit.
I remember when i first used IC7 i had idle temps at 54 and high temps at 77. Now idles at 48 and gaming is 70-71. Hardly hear the fans speed up :D

Um, guys, he said CPU. I don't use prime95 so I wouldn't know. What thermal paste did you use?

My CPU would reach 80c with OCCT back when I had 720qm stock paste.

Oh yeah, sorry. I'm so used to see GPU that it's kinda automatic to read CPU as GPU. In that case, 83C CPU is quite high. What are your ambient temps? I get ~73C running my 920xm at stock clocks (22C ambient). I used to get the same results with my 720qm on stock paste.

He said ICD7 and I asked him what thermal paste so I guess I didn't read well either...lol.

ICD7 is supposed to be pretty forgiving as far as application is concerned but he probably just needs to repast again.

I am running on stock paste also. i get 37-39C when idle. and when loaded get about 56-61C.
Plus its a little hot in this room too because we always have the heat blowing up on high :)

    *double face palm*

:D yeah we always tend to think its the GPU, never really consider the CPU having issues with temps.
