ok i have latest graphic driver 11.1a and i am just curious is the game unplayable becouse of the drivers or something else
tryed on low settings also but same problem
i saw a video on youtube a guy that played the game without any problems
anyone tried it?
and post with which driver
-
I was gonna get it today, I guess I will wait, see if anyone else is having the same issue
-
well i've done some research and people with high performing spec had the same laggy graphic
but this guy plays it without a problem

I was actually going to make a similar topic...beat me to it!
Anyway heres what i get:
High Settings on ALL w/ AAx4 = Constant 45FPS
Very High Settings on ALL w/ AAx4 = Constant 30FPS (this is what I use)
AAx4 vs AAx2 doesn't seem to make a difference in FPS so I leave it at x4. As far as gameplay, this thing runs as smooth as Burnout Paradise. Yea Burnout gets a constant 60fps, but 30fps in this game @ VH settings is still very smooth so it's definitely playable (considering thats the FPS console versions run on).
I'm using 10.11 -
hmm i guess i should try older drivers then ...
for me it is unplayable
while i play graphic jumps from picture to a picture -
TDU2 plays fine on my G73JH. I'm using the 11.1 driver from AMD's site. I'm playing the game @ 1920x1080, No AA, all medium settings except Car Detail(high), and Texture Detail(high) I get 50-60 fps with these settings. More if I use hood or bumper view while driving. If I turn on any AA, it makes the game almost unplayable. Also from time to time, when I start the game, it almost seems like I'm in battery mode because the FPS is less than half what it normally is, and I get slow motion frame by frame stuttering. I believe this to be a bug with the game.
The new 11.2 driver, at least to me, appears to be slightly better. The game runs a little smoother, and slightly better fps. I still haven't tried any AA yet.
Atari/Eden needs to update the game with optimizations. The current version appears to be the QA version. I expect an update any day now with substantial improvements/bug fixes
If you happen to see "Boost" driving around, feel free to add me to your friends list -
still downloading... ill try it tonight.. btw, 11.2 installed...
-
i give up ...
yeah adamski07 report after you'll install it -
I tried x2 and x4 AA, both yielded about the frame rate(40-ish fps), but I noticed "skips" while playing. Turning AA off smoothed everything out. Again, I don't think it's the driver, I think it's the game.
-
can't believe a game with so bad graphics is doing this
a get those "skips" all the time and i can't play it
but some can .... -
I notice those skips, is when the game loads textures. For me is very playable with around 40 at 1080p. The setting I use are no AA, v-sync on (helps in fluidity), environment and car in high, and filter and FXs in very high. Anyway, the game sucks and the engine in average. Tested with 10.11 (full package) and new 11.2.

you don't want me to record my gameplay
a total disaster
i am ashamed
i hope this will be the only game that does like that -
Just downloaded and used TVC. It converted it down to about 40mb but the quality (as expected) took a major hit and now looks like complete crap. That and I cant seem to make a youtube account. This functionality is not available right now. Please try again later. Im gonna try Windows Movie Maker.
edit: Tried TVC again and compressed it down to 111mb and looking alot better, though nowhere near as good as original. WIll upload as soon as youtube gets their together. -
try converting xvid i think that will give you best results
play with the optionstry to resize it but not loose quality
better not upload i will be jelaous -
Heres some footage: YouTube - Test Drive Unlimited 2 G73JH
not sure why the audio didn't record (there was audio when I was recording...). Did some googling and found out people were having audio issues with TDU2 as well.
Anyway in the vid im just cruising and changin video settings around. (AAx2 on High > Medium > High > V.High)
to people who cant run the game for some reason: You're not missing out. I wont be playing this game for long..This game isn't too good anyway IMO. I like burnout paradise a million times more. -
i'm being able to run it properly on both 11.1a and 11.2...
horrible gameplay though, bought it coz i like the original, money wasted.. -
-
either low or high setting or decreased - increased resolution / gameplay "jumps" a lot
if i only knew the reason
for you it is optimizes enought but for me sucks
EDIT : you opened it through the launcher right?
it cannot be opened through the exe file
and when i open it it says conection strict or something ( but i don't care about that and i don't think that is a problem becouse it is for online feautures) -
Yea I open it through the launcher only. If you try to open it with the .exe file it will give you an error and tell you to use the launcher.

Hi guys.. my video insight stats bought me here...=]
just read all the posts about which some people are getting problems while playing this game... i just wanted to add the fact that wen i recorded the video, i was at an early stage and didnt explore enough to benchmark the fps... i can clearly say that i get about 27-60 fps on high settings and full hd resolution depending on the place and amount of activity on screen... but i do not get this image skip lag or w/e....
i dont think the driver updates will help much if uve tried it already...
i hope these few things might help stop the lag (ive done this since day 1)
-Disable automatic updates
-Disable backup and restore
-Disable SUPERFETCH service... <---this is one hardcore SOB for gamers...
if any1 wants to know what services/programs are running constantly on my OS then i can post a S/S of it...
Have a nice day people... -

Superfetch is a memory preloader, sort of like a cache. Windows Vista I/O technologies - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
-
You also don't need superfetch if you've got an ssd.
-
For the first one, you do mean Windows Updates right? And for backup and restore, how does this affect gaming? Wont it only use up CPU if you are actually back up system and/or do a system restore? I've had Superfetch set to automatic since day1. Havent really noticed any lagging/skipping in games. I guess disabling it might get me more fps. -
-
1 and 2 suggestion for me is no
i always update my system (notify me but i choose when to download and install them)
and about the system restore i have it active becouse you never know what could happen ....
and about the service i will read more into forums
lots of guys suggest disabling it
p.s Game runing fine after the latest update which was yesterday...but still there are sometimes "jumps" in game but it is playable now -
Just for a test, close the process sidebar.exe
Close every monitoring program you have (u seem to have quite a lot)
and Be sure to not run on the battery.
Test and report back.
If I have time, ill debug your PC tonight at my job using teamviewer. I may have an idea. -
already solved man
thanks for offering help
the update of the game solved it probably
those are not sidebar themes (rainmeter) and they don't use a lot of memory/cpu that's why i keep them
now the game runs very good everything veryhigh maxed resolution and 2xAA (sometimes gameplay jumps but very rarelly) @ 780/1080 -
Cool. Ill give the update a shot then..
The reason why I told you about the sidebar, is I know it prevent Intel turbo boost to obtain its max performance:
ex on my system 720QM on a single thread its supposed to go to 2.80Ghz but if there is cpu/gpu gadget running, I almost never get that speed even if im forcing it with single thread benchmark like prime95.
After disabling those gadget, no problem hitting my 2.80Ghz.
I guess Turbo boost is very sensible. -
