G73JH Wallpaper

Ok, I'm not that great at PS, still consider myself a noob. But I was bored today, and I am trying to get better in Photoshop. So with that said, I made a wallpaper for the G73 lovers.

I hope everyone likes, but if y'all have some tips I'll be glad to hear them too. I tried to make it black to match the laptop a little, while making the words and logos silver due to the silver "Asus" on the back of the G73. Didn't come out as good as I hoped, but I think that's pretty much best I can do for now.

It's a little to "busy" for my taste. The notebook pic and the ATI letters seem a little out of place. Otherwise it is nice, 100x better than I can do.

And thanks Mandrake, I touched it up some more. Does it look better?

I fixed the borders around the laptop, got rid of the Asus logo that was inside the screen of the laptop and re-aligned/darkened the "ATI" part to hopefully make it more together.

 

It still looks like the ATI letters and laptop are sliding off of the wing.

 

Hmm, I'm not 100% sure I know what you mean. But I did try to match the angles as best I could, if I rotate the laptop anymore it begins to look weird. I dunno, maybe that's not what you mean.

 

I'm just saying it looks oddly placed but don't listen to me. I'm not an art expert.

 

LOL, ah gotcha. Yeah, I dont consider myself an art expert either. I just couldnt find any other spot that looks better, and I without the laptop the pic looks more duller.

But yeah, still appreciate your comment, I like the touched up much better now, and prob wouldnt have touched it up more if you didnt say anything, so .

I think you did an amazing job!! Is it possible for you to make a variant with the G73 laptop positioned about half an inch up off the wing but at the same time not touching the rear stabilizers.

Already did, I re-uploaded the new ones for the first post.

And coolio, I think maybe that was what mandrake had in mind too, but I couldnt quite get it to do that a while back. I guess like I've heard a lot. Sometimes taking a break from something and coming back to it allows you to do things you couldnt figure out before.

Honestly, the image kind of looks like a F-117 Nighthawk flew through a building, picking stuff up along the way and is now dragging stuff behind it.

So, while the image is too busy for my tastes, it is still a nice effort.

Naw, you dont need to ask, I'm fine with ppl doing w/e they like with it. Your version is pretty nice, I thought about doing it like that at first, but wanted to keep it as black and silver as I could.

Yeah, I havent been repping ppl xD, so that's probably why. I noticed I didnt rep you for your Win7 install guide. So I just did that, might help, but I think I have to rep a few more ppl before it resets for you to be able to rep me again

Great work dkillone ! Since you now have a Asus G73SW ( from your signature ) I thought I'd ask if you are going to make any wallpaper for it too ? I'm getting my Asus G73SW-3DE on Monday and I've been looking for some wallpaper that'll do it justice .

 

Thanks Retired UPRR, Hrm, I haven't really thought about making a new one yet. But if you like this one I could change the JH to SW right quick.

If I can think of any good ideas for one I'll start workin on it, though feel free to share any yourself if you've got something in mind or prefer. :>

Ahah, nice pics, yeah bit busy today and tomorrow, but I'll see if I can get something going with those.

Not sure about making it HDR, I guess once I get started I'll let you know for sure. Honestly, I haven't really gotten much better in PS from last summer, but its fun to try and make them at least, even if it turns out bad. =)
