I have a G73JH and i use it to dual boot between windows and (a different OS), up until now i have been using a USB WiFi adapter to work with (a different os) since my Intel Centrino 6250 AGN is not supported by (a different os). I have been looking to replace the Centrino WiFi with a supported type that also has bluetooth built in. My question is do Asus bioses have a Whitelist that would prevent me from upgrading my WiFi half mini card?

    Thanks in advance!

Not as far as i know. I haven't heard of a card that didn't work in the G73JH.

I can barely keep one operating system working correctly let alone two :D

I have changed my WIFI Card twice as the first was poor, the second the even poorer and I settled on the 6200 Intel thingy or something.

So in answer to your question you should be fine.

There is no whitelist per se on asus machines.

I have seen some machines have incompatibilities with certain cards but it is not because their PCI IDs are blocked. It's from buggy PCI code in the BIOS.

P.S. read the forum rules you can't talk about a certain other OS on non-Steve-Jobsian hardware.

Well thank you guys for the quick replies. I guess i will give it a go and see what happens. By the way what IS the best wireless card for the G73? I have searched the forums and haven't found anything.

Oh and yah.... the (Other OS) is what i was referring to... thank you for reminding me!!! Haha.

I was going to suggest the intel card you have but since it won't work with the Os you intend to use, you'll have to look for another one, Atheros or other.

A problem is that the good atheros (and .. not great.. broadcom) cards are mostly full height cards... going to be hard to find what you are looking for.

I guess i have to be happy with what i got. I won't be using the (Other OS) outside of the house anyway, might as well plug it up to my router and keep the Intel card.

Thank you guys for the great and prompt responses. Have a good night!
