    Hi all,

I am currently trying to get the creative audigy HD package working with the latests realtek drivers. Previously had the XFi workaround with modded 2.48 drivers, but uninstalled it to try and solve an audio crashing issue with BF2BC.

On Chastity's driver page there is a link to a windows 7 compatibility update for the original creative audigy HD package. Unfortunately it seems to be a broken link.

Has anyone saved a copy of the file, or have a working link?

I am tempted to just pay the $19.99 for the "upgrade" license. Rebooting constantly and installing and uninstalling to get things going gets old fast! Unfortunately the links to the creative 1.1 x-fi trial seem to be dead too, and am not having any luck finding it on creative's website.

I actually was running the X-Fi MB package from the modded 2.48 driver package, but I upgraded my Realtek Drivers to the latest versions and the SB X-Fi software continued to work perfectly despite the driver update. I had to run the patcher from safe mode to get the Realtek devices to work with the Creative software, but once things were patched everything worked perfectly.

I've since upgraded to some SB X-Fi 2 package that I found floating around somewhere, but it's basically the same as the X-fi package that came with the modded drivers. I think if you're having any sound issues, I'd upgrade your Realtek drivers and not worry too much about your SB X-fi version... As mentioned, I haven't noticed any difference between the SB X-fi software I'm running and the previous versions, so I'd guess if anything would help updating Realtek HDMI and normal drivers to latest is the way to go.

    Hope this helps.

Cheers, actually just installed the X-Fi 1.1 that came with modded 2.48. Works fine with latest realtek drivers, so will just leave it at that unless a better version comes around.

Looks like the problem is due to the realtek drivers and Battlefield 2 BC. From reading even desktops with realtek onboard often get intermittend buzzing sound crashes. No way to fix and I doubt DICE will bother now Battlefield 3 is imminent. I just wish my g73JH has an expresscard slot, then could put in my SB Audigy ZS, disable realtek, and enjoy better sound and no crashes!

You can get USB audio solutions. I have the Creative USB HD and I do love it so, or get the Asus STX Essence One for $499 for ultimate headphone bliss :D
