I've been experiencing that during video calls the cam will freeze for a few seconds before resuming the stream, only freakishly dark before it readjusts something by itself. Honestly its starting to me off, anyone experiencing this too ? and some solutions ?

Are you noticing this when it's a dark setting? Some webcams have problems in low light conditions, you might try moving a lamp closer or turning on an overhead light if that's the case.

Nope, it's not that, this happens no matter the lighting, I've been sitting in a room with three spots and a table lamp on and this still happens, the webcam green led turns off too, so it actually turns off or that's what I assume since the green led goes off

    yep same problem here
it goes dark picture with lot more frames and then light picture with less frames...
i think if you install virtual camera that doesn't happens too much but i am not sure i will test and post

ok i have tested the camera with windows live messenger 2011 and skype (USB 2.0 2.0M UVC WEBCAM AND ASUS VIRTUAL CAMERA) and this is what i get

    1. msn: when i was using windows live 2009 and when i choose USB 2.0 2.0M UVC WEBCAM from video options i was getting a picture but dark picture
2.msn: when i was using windows live 2009 and choose ASUS VIRTUAL CAMERA i was getting an ERROR
conclusion - don't use windows live messenger 2009
instead of that windows live messenger 2011 is working perfect with USB 2.0 2.0M UVC WEBCAM AND ASUS VIRTUAL CAMERA
    no blinking no dark picture...

    _______________________________________________________

and now the results with skype
1.skype with USB 2.0 2.0M UVC WEBCAM - i am getting a dark picture which i've mentioned before then a couple of seconds light
2.skype with ASUS VIRTUAL CAMERA - the picture is bright and normal but it blinks after some times
conclusion: use virtual camera with skype

only in skype the camera turns off and then on (dark/bright picture)
but with virtual camera using skype it turns off again but after that the picture is bright
try to update to latest skype... i think it is skype issue becouse with latest msn 2011 everything works fine

Not what I experienced...the picture turns off and comes back as dark/black
and not before later on it somehow readjusts...
I am running the latest version of skype...eventhough I don't like what they've done to the GUI

oh it's definetly something with skype, never had issues like this in MSN either

when you go in webcam settings it has two tabs
    1. video proc amp(all option available to configure)
2.camera control (none of the options are available to configure)
so can you configure the options in camera control?

maybe mine are not available becouse of the driver i am using
