As the title says, i didnt notice that the Battery isnt getting charged until it depleted to 0%.
Windows says "Plugged in, charging), but if i look in HWinfo64 sensors, no 0W/h charge rate.
Battery has 18% wear.
Doesnt even charge in power savings mode![]()
Doesnt charge if laptop is turned off.
Things i've tried:
1. I have reinstalled P4GH and ATK drivers
2. uninstalled acpi-compliant control method battery in device manager, reinserted battery and updated the driver.
3. tried to reset EC, (took battery and AC out for 5 min)
to do:
try live CD ubuntu, and see what it says
put the battery in a faulty mobo i have around to test if it charges there. already done, look below
Laptop works great on AC, just wont power the battery![]()

I've just tested it on a stripped motherboard, and it charged, wihout problem. (used same battery and AC adapter)
Moved it back to my lappy, again says charging, but it doesnt.
I fear that the mobo has developed a defect.
as soon as i have time, i'll try disassembling entire laptop, and connect battery to mobo,
plug it to AC, to see if it's mobo fault.
any input would be grately appreciated. -
Ok, left the battery on the other mobo i have laying around, and it fully charged.
Now when i put it in this laptop, widows says 100% available (plugged in, charging) ?
i'm seriously concerned i'll have to get external battery charger
100$ seems a lot for a poor external charger -
Dissasembled the laptop completly, and still didn't charge. I guess it's a hardware issue with mobo.
Maybe just a problem with EC, idk. -
Try a hard reset
Take out the battery and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Power on the laptop by just using the power cord. Once windows loads plug in the battery and see if it starts to take a charge. Every now and then i'll work on a picky computer that won't charge after i reassemble it.
Anyway try a hard reset, that sounds like your best bet. -

It could be a problem with the charging circuit, and unfortunately your choices in that case are:
1) RMA it to ASUS
2) Bring it to a qualified shop that does motherboard repair (not just any old laptop repair shack)
3) Find an electrical engineer (or someone who knows how to follow traces) and bribe them to find the circuit on the board and its potential problems
4) Get really lucky and find the G73JH schematic on the internet. If you do find it, share it! -
Tried before i disassembled it.
It's not windows problem, as it doesn't charge even if i only use bare MOBO, AC adapter and battery.
1. RMA not even possible, bought this mobo from china XD
2. Not an option (prices start at 100€, wich is exactly the same amount i paid for the mobo, and i can get external charger cheaper.
3. Searching for one.
4. Will see what i can dig out =) -
I got photos of which part of the mobo is responsible for charging battery, if any1 is interested.
Also, it appears the problem is fixed, i had the machine dissasembled a couple of days, thinking what to do, and now it charges :S
maybe i didn't reset EC last time, or a miracle happened =)
problem fixed anyway -

It's likely a firmware reset, maybe even something in the charging circuitry control itself that needed to reset.
G73JH battery says charging, but it's stitting at 0%
