Well, I'm dumb and decided to try out the AMD GPU tool to overclock, despite not really having any issues with my framerates. I decided I didn't want to risk anything after all, reset the clocks to default, and uninstalled it.

Now, however, it seems like the fans are louder than they used to be, like they're running full blast even when I'm not doing anything. My temps seem the same as always and the clocks look right (using HWiNFO32 to check all of this), but even when it's running on battery and the GPU is underclocking itself the fans still seem louder than they used to.

Is there any easy way to see what my fans are doing? HWiNFO is saying they're running at 30%, but from what I've read that's probably not an accurate reading. And I could just be being paranoid and the fans have always been this loud and I never noticed, but I want to be sure. I'd rather be overly paranoid than leave a potential issue, you know?

i found that even tho i reset my clocks to normal amd gpu clock tool would somehow force me to retain my gaming clocks. Check with gpuz and if this is the case just reinstall ur drivers and problem should disappear.

Looks like it's running at 405/1000 when browsing as such, 700/1000 under load. I assume that's what it's supposed to be., but it doesn't seem to be detecting my fan speeds.

I experience the same thing. My fans are audible and I feel that air is really coming out of the GPU vent. And I'm idling at 66 right now and it clearly is audible.

66 idle is a bit high, what are your load temps?

Yeah, 66 idle seems like it'd be bad. I'm idling at 56-57 (and hit 86-87 in FurMark) so it doesn't seem like the fans should be going full blast sitting at the desktop.

I operate at about 47C idle, 72-77C on load depending on game. Needless to say my fans are pretty quiet due to low heat load.
