Hello my friends, I have some sad news. I'm typing from my droid right now because my laptop refuses to turn on. I was playing Fallout 3 (no biggie) on max graphics per usual and my laptop shut off. So like everyone one would do, I tried turning it back on.
It didn't come back to life as I had hoped. This is where I started to tear up. So I look behind my laptop at the clutter of wire for the battery cord and felt everything. It was all very abnormally hot.
The wires must have been clogging the hot air shooting out of my back vents. I supposed that it overheated, and something in my laptop got fried. I left in on my desk overnight with the window cracked a little (its 35 degrees at night in Plattsburgh, NY) thinking well maybe it just needs its beauty sleep.
I was wrong. My laptop is fried (seems that way anyway). Please save my soul, I have a college physics high-priority report on there due Monday that I absolutely need. Could use a lot of help, though I know there is not much hope

Ouch man, rough luck. That's really strange, usually a thermal shutdown occurs at 110-115 C, to protect the machine. Either that failsafe failed or there's something else wrong.
If you have access to another laptop, you might be able to remove your HDD and put it in another machine.
Not sure what else to tell you. Open up the service bay and see if there's any ash or noticeable damage. -
Popping out the drives is your best bet for now. If you have an external enclosure with USB, it'll be easy to recover.
G73JH fried? Could use opinions
