G73JH from Best Buy Canada

Hey,

Quick two questions to all of those who purchased their G73JH for Best Buy, in Canada: what mouse did your computer come with? Did it come with the backpack?

According to the Asus website, the mouse and pack are optional, though everyone seems to be getting them with their computer. I plan on getting this computer from my local Best Buy within a week and would like to know if I'll need to buy a mouse (I've already got a 17 inch case).

edit: Oh, and what exactly is the screen resolution? According to some, their screen res is 1920x1800 full HD vs 1600x900 HD. The Best Buy site says 1600x900, is this true?

I don't know if this has changed, but ASUS units sold at major brick and mortar retailers(like best Buy, Staples, etc.) do not include accessories, this is because these retailers want you, the customer, to buy their accessories and their warranty.

However, it'd be best if a user who did buy one could chime in

 

The BestBuy Canada (RCNX09) model comes with a 1600x900 screen and I'm not sure if you get a mouse and bag. it costs $1,699 +tax

A G73Jh-A2 model online will cost $1,649 and will have the 1920x1080 screen, a mouse and a bag. I bought mine on NCIX.com and was able to get it price matched to $1,599 and NCIX only charged me the GST and not the Quebec provincial 7.5% tax which means the total price I paid was $1,750 including shipping and a 30 day express rma option.

Unless you really want the BestBuy warranty, you are probably beter off buying online.

 

It looks like I'll buy from one of the local Asus resellers in Toronto (my city). I prefer to buy in person, especially if I need to return the machine. PC Canada seems like the best option.
