Still currently on the wait list over @ xotic, however... Is anyone using their G73JH with multiple displays? If so are you using the ATI Eyefinity features? How are you connected? Issues and solutions? How many monitors? Quality? What is the maximum number of monitors tried and the resolution attempted?
Tried searching the forum, but it is cumbersome; so please excuse me if this has been well visited elsewhere and kindly direct me there.
Thank you.

Hmm plenty of topic reads, but no replies.
Went to Asus support forum where an interim modertor stated that the G73JH hardware would only allow the laptop display plus one external monitor, but refers the issue to "that's the power of eyefinity. Remember the mobile 5870 is equivalent to a 5770 desktop card."
Okay, according to ATI the notebook requires Catalyst 9.1 or higher, To enable more than two displays, additional panels with native DisplayPort connectors, and/or DisplayPort compliant active adapters to convert your monitors native input to your cards DisplayPort or Mini-DisplayPort connector(s), are required. ATI Eyefinity technology can support up to 6 displays using a single enabled ATI Radeon graphics card with Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems - the number of displays may vary by board designaddtional panels having native Displayport connectors, HD monitors
So, active adapters can be utilized on the display end but not from the laptop? The G73JH having HDMI but no Displayport... is that the issue?
So to run 3 displays with the G73JH it cannot be done? The only way to get 3 displays is with the Matrox Triple Head2go or is there a problem there as well? -

As I understand it while the 5870m has eyefinity capability, it is disabled [or the external port hardware is nonexistent]. As you can see, the G73 can drive 2 monitors [one via HDMI, one via VGA] but it will NOT run more than this [it's notebook display + 1 external, or 2 external.]
Matrox solutions SHOULD work [I've only ever used them on desktops for clients] but I wouldn't attempt to drive any serious GFX through them [IE games, etc]
[If you happened to miss it, the G73 is tucked below the left monitor]
If you happen to find an alternative solution or way to achieve 3 active displays with the existing hardware, I'd LOVE to hear about it tho -
holy mate, where you get that sick screensaver?

It looks like The Matrix...

Eh, I've tried them both, the matrix SS/background was cool, but started to hurt my eyes. So now I'm back to my normal space backgrounds and of course, just have the monitor turn off than use a screen saver.
Still a nice setup mindinversion has though. -
I think at this juncture, the only Laptop I know that is capable of using the infinity multiple display capability of the ATI card is the HP Envy 17 coming out on May 19.
I am actaully seriously considering it as an alternative to the G73 as it has all the ports like eSata and USB 3.0 and the capability of having 2 HDDs. The only downside is the fact that it only has the ATI 5850. But I think the ATI 5850 will give me more than decent power for my gaming needs as I will be using this machine for work as well.
I am still keeping my options open at this time.....
