Using Windows 10, if I shut down the computer. Then turn it back on, the keyboard and touchpad don't work.
they will work if I restart the computer. If its coming from an off state, they don't function. They always work on any restart.
What I have tried:
I tried to set the bios to default values and save / restart. That did not work
I then reflashed the bios. that did not help.
I reinstalled windows 10. That did not help.
I have also tried 2 different keyboards, originally thinking one may be bad. That did not help.
I'm leaning towards this being a Windows 10 OS issue and I'm getting ready to put Win 7 back on here, for troubleshooting purposes.
Any ideas what I can tweak or try, to fix this minor annoyance?
Any replies such as 'buy a new machine' will be ignored. The machine works great other than the quirk mentioned.

I think I've narrowed this down to a Windows 10 driver issue. I installed Windows 7 and the 'problems' went away. I could shutdown the computer, then turn it on, restart it at will and the keyboard and trackpad always work.
I think at this point the solution is to hunt down better drivers for the kb and trackpad for Windows 10. When I go look at the drivers in device manager, they are from 2006 and they are just generic drivers. Thats some pretty old ish. -
Are you installing Windows 10 64-bit and getting the ISO from Microsoft's tool? Be sure not to install Windows 10 in UEFI mode as that is quite problematic with G73JH. Make a USB stick for a non-UEFI install with Rufus ( link). Choose a MBR partition scheme.

Here's a list of what I have stored away and install for Win10:

Camera_Chicony_CNF_9059_Win7_64_Z061005200440.zip ( here) (the camera install needs to be done manually in device manager) If you don't plan to use it don't bother with the driver. If you do want to use it, the image will probably be flipped and need a registry tweak to fix. Which I figured out recently
