So i think my battery has died it was pushed up against the charger and i think the heat killed the battery.
I get flashing/ continuously on orange battery light. Battery has no charge and will not charge. If the charger is disconnected the machine shuts down instantly.
So i was looking around for a replacement and noticed that my battery is 14.6V and the replacements i can find are 14.8V or 14.4V.
Would using a battery with a different Voltage be an issue ,would it affect performance or longevity?

just try to find a battery from an acceptable reseller, 14.4 or .6 or .8 does not make a huge difference anyway..

Yea, I purchased a new battery recently as well for mine. I got it from amazon. If you do decide to get it from amazon, I did run into some issues but nothing too serious i think. Sometimes my battery light blinks orange if I keep it at 100% for too long while plugged in. When that happens, I just use the battery and it goes back green.

Honestly not sure what thats all about though. I keep mine in the refrigerator (air tight) charged at 40% so it can last longer this time.

You can also consider the OEM one directly from Asus 8-Cell Battery

Can someone post a link to where I can purchase an OEM battery for my Asus G73JH... I have tried two non OEM batteries which were both no good. Time to buck up!

NOTE I have never ordered from them : ASUS eStore ... click pull down for all categories and find our model.
I agree 139 is a lot, I wonder how long an item like this has been of the shelf anyway. Mine died about 6 months ago so I never bothered to replace it.

Ok found it thanks 8-Cell Battery

    Pretty pricey though... $139.00

I think I might have to risk purchasing another non OEM. Can anyone recommend a brand?

I just put a new battery in my G73jh this month. It cost $35 from Amazon with shipping, plus it is the high performance 5200 mAh one (like the one Asus sells.) So far it has been great. In fact it has been at about 100% charge long enough now (few days) that I think I'll see what kind of battery life I get with it. :err:

Ok, checked. It is lasting about 2 hrs. which is normal I think.

I too have had good 3rd party batteries but i've had terrible ones too, it becomes a bit of a lottery.
