I was just wondering if anyone had already made a guide on what should be enabled/disabled for services.. I would like to turn off whatever is not needed and could increase the performance along with close any backdoors.

A guide like that is not specific to the G73jh...

I'm currently using black viper registry tweak.

I don't see *any* reason to turn off services on the g73, unless it's superfetch because you have an SSD.

Cumulatively it's just that much less that has to be done in the background. ULTIMATELY since I know 100% I will never use any of that stuff anyway, why bother having it on?
Some people just like to try to get every last ounce of performance out of their machines.
PS: Blackviper FTW
PPS: you ARE absolutely correct that this is NOT G73 specific ^^ -
But this is the response I am looking for and I will use blackviper

I still think the gains from disabling a service are negligible. Many of them are on manual startup anyways, and the difference between stopped and manual is ... well, nothing. If they're stopped, they use no resources. If they're manual, they also use no resources. In fact, many of the services don't use any resources unless they're "activated". And many other services use .. 4k of memory and 0 processor time. So... again. kinda pointless. Sure, there are a few that'll clear up a tiny bit of processing power. But unless you're pegging your processor at 100%, that won't matter. And good luck pegging 4+4 cores at 100% ... it won't happen. Even with full load on a multi-core video processor, you won't be able to get the CPU to 100% across the board.
So. Good luck, I hope you don't accidentally disable something you don't need to use. And if you get lower memory usage? Great. Then again, you've got 6-8gb of ram, and good luck finding a use for all that. And if your processor usage goes from 4.00 percent at idle to 3.80% at idle... great. again, it's not like you'd ever be able to max out your CPU anyways, so it wouldn't actually affect anything ... but good for you.
