G73JH so what video driver version does it say in your adapter-prop-driver tab?

I tried to upgrade to latest driver for the 5870m but is there really a new driver installed or just a catalyst control center update?

If I go to rightclick-screenresolution-advanced-adapter-properties-driver it says:

Driver Date: 19.12.2012
Driver Version: 9.12.0.0


I went back to a really old version and then updated with the latest package and still the same.
So is there no newer driver for the 5870m but just controlcenter updates?

Yes, but what it says in the device-manager is what is used on the system.

I have had former experience of driver packages that only updates the controlpanel and not the driver itself so basically I would like to know what everyone else has as latest driver. If its not too much trouble.

Here's the 13.2 Beta 7 info, if you want to download that and install (as I mentioned in your other post). Your ones look a little old. I have had the same problem of packages not updating drivers, just control panel too. The fix for me was to install a different package.

Alright now I have the same info as you in the CCC.

Furthermore, the info in device-manager says:

Driver Version: 12.100.17.0

Sweet, now on to see if Bioshock still works
