I had problems with the G73JH  so I re-install and have done that several time and not with the provided disc but an original. The problem that I am having is that the sub and speakers are now on separate controls in the playback devices and when I plug in the headphones I still hear the sub playing sounds. I have not seen or read of this happening anywhere else.

Did you try using AI recovery partition (f9 after power on)? Or did you restore with the DVD's that can be created with the Asus Recovery program? (Note be sure to backup any user data before using either method).

No, I wiped the whole thing and started from scratch.
