I just discovered that the top of my LCD panel (the plastic close to he webcam) is getting pretty hot, and I have no idea how long this has been going for and what is the reason, can anyone touch that area and tell me if it's cool? (the LCD itself is cool but the plastic below the weccam, on the edge that touched the LCD is not)
thank you

Touched all around my webcam, seems just fine here. How quickly, with respect to how long youve had the machine on, does it heat up? And have you been using the webcam a lot recently? Just trying to establish a few things

mine is not... using lappy all day... and checked it just now... i guess there's something wrong with yours.. try to open it up so you can see it.. just remove 2 screws at the bottom... then the bezel.. you can keep it open then check whats happening there... gl..

cool to the touch for me

No heat here too

is ur laptop directly in front of a wall?
In that case, heat may be drafting up and making the top pf the panel hot, because if u notice, the panel fully opened just crosses the exhaust vents -
The plastic around the webcam is cool on mine. However, it is hot in right at the top edge of the lcd itself. If I run the back of my finger along the seem where the lcd ends and the plastic begins it is hot also. This is about 5 minutes after turning on. I would guess that it is normal based on the amount of heat that comes out of my regular LCD TV and monitors.

This is indeed very strange, I am not using my webcam at all, I don't plan on opening my LCD panel right now, but I was wondering if it doesn't have anything to do with the RMA

its a little warm around mine but not hot. I think its just the heat from the LCD pannel causing that.
