So I got this laptop that didn't show image on screen, backlight problem, I opened it all up and cleaned everything, and looked at the gpu, it was a mess, components were out of place. It was like that probably from factory, Laptop was bought new, and I know the owner he would not be messing around there, I don't think that just the heat of gpu would move the resistors out of place would it?
So I thought it was the problem so I put them in place according to pictures of the gpu on the web.
But then the laptop would not show picture even in external monitor.
For a week I was trying to find out what was wrong with this and I thought It was the gpu so I ordered a new one from china.
Meanwhile I thought, since I have nothing to loose, I'll just put the components out of place just like they were before and try, and you know what, now the laptop boots fine, backlight lcd still not working but vga out works. so... what a hell? I checked the resistors and transistors and they all seem fine, I also bought a boardview of the gpu, cost me 2.5 euros, and did not found out why that components make the gpu not work...
So then I did what I should have done first, check display cable and test another lcd. And it was the problem, aparently the lcd leds died or some thing on the lcd board, I checked fuses and all was fine, Vout at the leds power cable was 19v, backlight enable and pwr were at 3.2v, all seems fine, compared withe the good lcd and the only diference was the vout to the leds, it was 24v.
so here it is my story just for future findings.![]()
