When I sent my notebook to ASUS service center for RMA I asked them to replace the original single button JH touchpad by more ergonomic JW touchpad with 2 buttons. Asus agreed, however I had to pay about 60 EUR (incl. VAT and shipping) in our local currency for parts and labor. Asus had sent me the invoice where are listed all items they replaced:

With the original touchpad it was sometimes difficult to drag & drop over longer distance, because the pressure needed to push the required half of the large single button was quite stiff comparing the other notebooks' touchpads. The new one is more ergonomic with buttons' being pushed when pressured softly up to par with other notebooks.

Honestly, i think all my other laptops have better touchpad buttons (and undoubtedly, better touchpads)!!! And the touchpad button of my roommate's Dell studio is such a pleasure to use that I wish my expensive ROG had that (or atleast a perfectly working touchpad for that matter)...

The JH touchpad is poorer than poor and the bar for the buttons is just cheap and lazy. Not a bad deal for 60 euros fitted but its a joke they charged you for that if they hadn't been so cheap in the first place you wouldn't have had to do it.

Good to know this is possible though +1 for the information.

60 euros just for a button change? Ugh, ASUS can shove that. I'm happy with the buttons. It was stiff as hell when you first get it but now it's okay.
