Hey,
I recently reformatted my ASUS G73JH, and wanted to know what the difference was between using the following ASUS drivers versus using their Windows 7 counterparts (ie. Windows 7 drivers).
1. ASUS IMSM Driver ('Intel Matrix Storage Manager' or the hard drive controller driver) versus Windows 7 Driver.
2. ASUS Keyboard Filter Driver versus Windows 7 Driver.
--I believe the above drivers are for the hard drive/keyboard, however, since my hard drive/keyboard are already functional in Windows 7 without the need for installing the above drivers - what would be the benefit to installing the drivers listed above?
Thanks,

The Windows drivers are always very generic, and in some cases, they are intentionally crippled. Video drivers come to mind, where Microsoft will strip out all OpenGL support, leaving only DirectX. In the case of keyboards, often times you will find that if you try and use the Fn key combos, they will not work using the generic Windows keyboard drivers.
