I've set up a Wireless-G network (by using a Netgear WNHDE111), which I cannot see with my G73JH. I know the network is working fine, as a 4 year old Macbook Pro can see it and connect. Any thoughts on what is going on/what I should do?

you could check the bottom plate and see if any of the antennas popped off

you can also try disabling N service in the drivers, see if that makes a difference

you could also try updating your Azureware wireless drivers

I don't think any of the antennas popped off- I'm connecting to my old wireless-b network just fine. I'll try updating the drivers.

EDIT: Didn't work. Updated the drivers and no luck. I'll try disabling Wireless-G in the router, if I can.
    EDIT2: I can't disable Wireless-G. It only has A and G, and I know the G73JH's card can't connect to A.

Any other thoughts on this? I've tried messing with my wireless card's settings, and lowering the transmission rate of the access point to as low as it can go- still no luck. I don't understand why this could be happening- the Atheros card is a b/g/n card, correct?

EDIT: Agh, I just realized I've been saying G all this time, when I meant I was trying to connect to a N network. Stupid me. Still, the G73 should be able to connect to a N network, correct?

So I called ASUS, and apparently the default G73JH wireless card cannot connect to Wireless N networks. Which is a lie, since the Atheros spec page says it can.

It can't connect to N networks on the 5GHz band.

MarkS is correct- it can only connect to N on the 2.4 band. If you want N on the 5ghz band, you'd need to change to another card- for example the Intel 6200.

You can connect to N networks, but as stated above, only on 2.4 band, and only up to 150mbit. The Intel 6200 is a direct replacement, supports 300mbit, and also supports 5.0 band. Probably the best $25 investment for your machine. Available at provantage.com
