So I got a Samsung 470 128GB drive this week, installed everything went smoothly. I was wondering, should I install Intel RST or just rock it with the windows drivers? Did all the recommended tweaks from Samsung, etc etc... performance is right in line with benchmarks for the drive... just wondering if I should rock RST or just let it roll....

Yes install it I had it installed for my Kingston and it made a difference even if it was minimal.

I find the page filing, system restore and hibernation are my major tweaks to get more performance and space. -
page file is on my platter drive, system restore is off, but I forgot to disable hibernation... guess I know what I'm doing when I get home
I'll see about the RST drivers. -
The RST drivers give a small boost in performance, but nothing that major. Install only if you feel like it. Congrats on the SSD by the way and enjoy booting in 20 secs.

For those who are curious, sometimes you see RST "not running" after boot up, and later it's running. It's due to automatic delayed start and can be fixed to immediately run:

I always set RST to run at boot instead of delayed start. On a side note, it is possible to install the RSt drivers only without the utility using the files for "F6" install i think.

I picked my drive up for $150... newegg had a ShellShocker for my drive and I jumped on it. I wanted to avoid a sandforce based SSD, cause all the problems I keep hearing about. So far, this Samsung is rocking... no issues, supa-fast windows install, boot, and well everything. Its a world of difference from the Momentus XT 500G I had in before (ironically it started to fail SMART, so its RMA time for that drive...)

Definetly get an SSD. I got mine for $250 though but was worth every cent.
