So last week i noticed my laptop was running a little funny so I started testing the hardware. I found out i had a bad hard drive (Seagate Momentus XT 500GB 7200RPM) AND a bad stick of RAM (G-Skill 4GB 10666). I replaced the hard drive with a new Seagate Momentus XT 750gb and removed the bad stick of RAM (I have 4 total) and here is what happens:

I start with a fresh installation of Windows 7 Home Premium w/ Service Pack 1 rolled in. Windows installs just fine.

My next step is to install the drivers on the Asus drivers disk that came with my PC (Note: I've done this several times in the past, no issues). While the drivers are installing i get random errors "Windows requires a digitally signed driver"

This happens with the card reader, Bluetooth, LAN, the latest stable AND beta AMD drivers, some times my wireless (replaced the Atheros card with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200, has worked for over a year with no issues)

*Please note: All of the drivers i'm using have been signed correctly and have worked in the past. They have also worked on another G73JH without issue*

I have tried this with procedure with a Windows 7 disk without SP1 rolled in, same issues.

i have tried manually installing the drivers off the CD without using the built in installer. Sometimes i can get the drivers in (The LAN driver on the cd never works, always gives me driver signature problems)

I have tried grabbing the newest drivers from Asus' website.

I'm on BIOS 211 (has been working since it's release)

Back in January I decided to try Windows 8 and wasn't impressed so i reinstalled Windows 7 and everything worked (Install windows 7 w/ SP1, install drivers, install all Windows updates - in that order)

I'm at my wits end. I've tried every combination i can think of, i've replaced the faulty hardware (and tested the replacement hardware).

    Anyone see anything like this?

My roommate has the same laptop and he used my Drivers disk and the same copy of Windows 7 (his COA of course) and it worked perfectly.

Here is a picture of one of the Driver Signature errors. http://i.imgur.com/JCaSaFT.jpg

UPDATE 1: Using Test Mode doesn't do anything for me. Sometimes the drivers load, sometimes they don't. I'm currently trying this with the machine connected to the internet. Lets see what happens.

If this doesn't work i'm going to try stripping the machine down to just the CPU, GPU, motherboard, tested working hard drive and a single stick of RAM (tested of course)

My gut is telling me it's either the CPU or motherboard, unfortunately i don't have either laying around to test with.

UPDATE 2: I've tried letting the machine install updates, I was able to get the drivers installed but now i can't install .NET framework 4 or Visual C++ Redistributable 2008 package (needed for a bunch of my games. ) There are no errors, .NET through windows update just sits there "installing" but nothing happens. It's standalone installer opens and closes with no errors. The Visual C++ package also opens and closes with no errors.

I'm currently pounding the GPU with Furmark. Lets see how it does.

UPDATE 3: I think I have it figured out! After reading reviews for the hard drive on Amazon i came across a reviewer who was experiencing similar problems. He mentioned he had to update the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver and it solved his problem.

So, I grabbed the latest driver from Intel and installed it during the initial Windows 7 setup and everything seems happy. It's installing updates now.

So far, all of my drivers are in, .NET 4.0 is in and the VC++ 2008 package is in and working.

It's something to do with Windows 7, the built in RST driver and Advance Format Sectors on the newer large capacity hard drives. *crosses fingers* lets see what happens.

What happens when you try it with Driver Signing disabled? The directions are pasted in below, these are from another web site and I know these commands work as they should because I do it myself at times. (Note, this will add a few lines of text on the lower right corner of your desktop letting you know you're in test mode. You can remove this text by doing the reverse commands also located below. You can reverse driver signing just fine after you get drivers installed, no issues with that, the driver will remain installed.)

Open a command prompt as an admin and type

    bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

    bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

    See security risk warning above.

    To reverse the changes do the below;

    bcdedit /deletevalue loadoptions

    bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF

Did you maybe not do any Windows Updates?
Is the laptop offline while you try to install the drivers? Sometimes Windows will need to check online for some driver certificates to see if they are valid.
Is the computer time/date set correctly?

Tried with Test Mode and no luck. Still telling me the drivers aren't signed.

I have not tried while the PC is connected to the internet. I'm going to try that now and see what happens.

If this doesn't work i'm going to disconnect the bluetooth module, remove the wireless card, strip it down to one stick of tested RAM, one hard drive and remove the blu-ray drive. that will get me to motherboard, cpu and GPU.
