The video card says it supports 2560x1600 but only through DVI.

But this laptop doesn't appear to have a DVI connection - it has the VGA and HDMI connection.

My current setup is the laptop monitor + a VGA monitor at 1600x1200, and I would like to add a 2560x1600 monitor.

    Will this even be possible?

Ok - so I did a lot of research and it seems there isn't really a solution for this since Asus didn't build in a port capable of outputting a resolution this high. Bugger.

So the best I think I can do then is to get a 1080 monitor and plug the HTML into that, eh?

This is correct in that hdmi 1.3 is limited to 1080p. Supposedly the g73jw has hdmi 1.4 and will be capable of higher res but there are few hdmi capable monitors exceeding 1080p.

    Cheers,
